Wow Update!!! ( it's a long one!)

So yikes, it doesn't take long for your blog to be out of date! Well we had a Coates Christmas party the day after Thanksgiving it was kind of fun to see some cousins I hadn't in a while. And on thanksgiving Kaydence spent a little time with her younger cousin Casen! we got some fun pics. And we played the coolest game(thanks Brit) it was called Thankful pie. My niece made a little fake pie and we wrote down on pieces of paper the things we were thankful for to fill our pie! It was super neat to hear every ones thoughts, and funny. We had Family , Friends, warm house, the gospel(and almost everything related to it), also things like hairy chests, gold bond, and hunting( gotta love those guys!) I've decorated (a little), I'm not done remodeling the house so it is kind of hard for me to decorate my ugliness ha ha. But I love my tree, my mom and I made all of the decorations about 7 years ago, and I got to take them with me when I went to college. I am working on new tree stuff for next year (it will be all hunting, feathers, barbed wire, Levi jeans) I am excited to see if my vision is as cute out of my head as in. Also we went to the NFR with my family. It is kind of a tradition now. We love it. Kaydence even went to the rodeo the first night, but was only happy for half of it( I'm pretty sure it was too loud!). So her grandma coates, and great aunt Treasa stayed behind(very excited) to play with her at the hotel. Kaydence was so good down there, I was super worried about taking her but she was fine. My mom decided she needed a family pic for Christmas cards on Sunday( didn't let us know til then either) so we all dug up some red and black ha ha and went down to the farm for some FREEZING pics. Kaydence even got the shivers I felt horrible, and I might add we are probably the most un-photogenic family ever ha ha ha. Well I think that is it. Hopefully we will have some great Christmas photos for my next post! Yay I have been so excited for Christmas this year I almost forgot about shopping( I just finished last night)! Thanks Carly for coming with me.
Kaydence Update...... Well so our little one is getting so big, in all meanings of the word. She is up to 14.5 pounds and growing ha ha, and is now trying to sit herself up when lying down( she doesn't get very far but she is trying. She can make thousands of sounds and coes, and millions of faces. She Still only poops 2 times a week, but it's getting more rank by the day. Eats every 2 hours, and sleeps through the night(since 1.5 months thank heavens). She can sit very well with a little help, but is still tipsy. She likes cereal, and it has to be thick(she just gets mad when i make it runny, i think she thinks I'm screwing with her mommy milk hee hee). Overall she IS the best baby in the whole world(OK to me at least). She is So content and happy, I cannot believe she has almost been with us for 4 months now. Who knows if I even did anything before she was here( I can't remember if I did). She is my whole life and LOVE being mommy, and love seeing John with his little girl,. Nothing in the world makes me happier.

Kaydence was not going to let me put her down while I was making homemade candy(yummy) so I got out the baby bjorn!

My Funny family!
Homemade tree decor. Aren't they the best.

I made the Mr. and Mrs. Clause. The Blocks say winter, and there is my one and only nativity(it snowman!)

Grandpa and his cow girl( secretly Sh only wore the hat that night, and we are giving it to her for Christmas) The hat looks funny right there but that's the only good pic of grandpa.

Kaydence with Santa, and Dad.
Thanksgiving with the Barclay's,

Yup she is trying to eat Casen's arm, and her bum says Yummy ha ha.

Cereal

Right as food hits mouth!( she hates it)After she eats it.(or does she love it)
So I decided I would try out some rice cereal. Kaydence eats every two hours if not closer together. So maybe a little cereal will help space things out. And I was told by the doc it was ok to try it out anytime after three months. I could hardly feed her, her reactions were so funny!!! I was laughing so hard(ya I'm rude) But thanks Mindy for being camera lady. After I found out that Kaydence did have a messy bum(1 of 2 for the week) so that might have been part of her mad faces. I can't get the video to download I'll try again later.

House & Yard

Her first of many tutu's, I might add I think she likes it ha ha

Before (old roof and small man doing the work for john)
After( I can't wait til we save up for our stucco and rock! GOOD BYE NASTY BLUE.

This was in late September when it was still warm. Her face shows my thoughts on my huge untamed yard!
So I have been trying to clean up my yard, but that is a much harder task than I think it should be. I only can work 2 hours at a time (due to feedings), and it seems like it takes me an hour to get Kaydence bundled enough that I think she'll be OK. But it's too cold for her now so I have to wait til her grandma will watch her while I go work! Also we got new shingles. When we bought the house we knew we would have to do this but we thought John (and some friends) would have the time . Well I was getting nervous that the snow would hit before John could do it, so we found guy who gave us what we thought was a great deal! So after two days of banging and slamming up above we are done and no worries for another 15-30 years. So all you guys lucked out ha ha.

Our forgotten one!

Happy Halloween( dog, Lobster)

Evil WeedsWhat happens when Sadie meets, and plays in Evil Weeds!( 2 days of her biting me and me trying to get the stickers out, and we still had to take her in to get Shaved :( I was so sad.

so poor Sadie. She has defiantly been left out. Not on perpose, but her play time is very limitted and she only gets her hair done 2-3 times a week (it used to be every day!). But she did get very jelous of Kaydence(and why wouldn't she) so she started making messes in my new house(thank hevens she is over that. Now she is so funny to watch with the baby. She likes to lick her fingers and toes( ya it should gross me out) and also if she can get away with it law on her lap. She is so watchful of Kaydence to, if the baby is cry ing Sadie is to the rescue!

Pooo:)

So I thought my child was a freak of nature( a great one at that)She was only pooping like once a week and according to almost everyone else in the world that is NOT normal! I even talked to my doctor he said to watch it carefully it could be some scary sumac problem. Well unfortunately and fortunately she is now up three poops this week ha ha. I just thought it was interesting!!

My Honey Went for a good Cause....

Well John had a long weekend(the first in a long time might I add) and there was a fundraising skeet shoot for one of the local business owners(Snow Cap Lanes, Kelly Jacobson) He was in a serious 4- wheeling accident and has a huge bill to pay! So John signed up for a donation. He had tons of fun shooting with the guys in his group and to our suprise ended up winning!!!! Yahoo. He had his choice of 4 prizes this super sweet over under winchester It has some awesome game bird inscriptions and stuff. There were some other guns and knifes and a big screen tv to choose from but this took the cake in his book ( I was hoping for the big tv ha ha ours is a 27 inch oldie).

Her big day!

She is actually peeing on her blanket(hee hee)

John had to be to work (in Bountiful) by 6 that night.

This is after people have left!

On sunday we named our little one officially Kaydence Barclay! Her dad did an awesome job, and I cried ha ha. We had so much support thanks everyone for taking the time to come down. It was even kind of rainy. I decided to have soup, but I had 4 different kinds (Baked Potato, Cream of Broccoli, Chicken Noodle, and my grandma's Chilli) I served them out of big pumpkins and had pumpkin looking bread bowls to, I had some family bring relish trays also. I thought it all was super yummy, and hope everyone else did to. Thanks again.

2 month Check up :( !!

Today I took Kaydence to her 2 month check up. Yup you guessed it she IS growing. From September 12 till now she has gained over 3 pounds (8.35-11.75)!!! Which puts her in the 73 %tile. She has also gotten taller. She was 20.75 and is now 23.25 inches long, so she is in the 81 %tile. So she is going to be a tall girl!! But today wasn't just about he growing it was her first round of immunizations! I was super nervous to how she would do, shots suck no matter how old you are. But I gave her a little bit of infant Tylenol before we went and she had a bottle while we were there so she was quite content. They gave her a total of 5 vaccines but in 3 shots, she took it like a champ. Even the secretaries mentioned she didn't make much of a fuss. I laughed when the nurse put the band aids on and they were camo. Sorry this is kind of long. Nothing like a small opportunity to brag about your little one.

Bumbing

Caden & Stacy Kaydence & Cooper

Happy Halloween

Kaydence and Casen.

I was going through some of my pictures and thought I'd give you all an update! I went out to lunch with my cusin Cameron's wife Stacey and she and her little boy loved Kaydence. He wasn't sure If he like her name too well, His name is Caden(way to close). Then the others are of her and her boy buddies, one her cusin, the other hopefully a friend. We went up to Logan to see Casen and his mommy steph, on the 23rd. He is a twin to his daddy. The other is of Cooper. he is the little guy. He was born a week after Kaydence, but nine weeks early, so he is super tiny, 6 pounds. She looks like a beast next to him. I thought it was super funny. But I don't know how funny it is that all these little boys are being born with twice as much hair as my little girl, Oh well I guess thats why they have head bands for! Hope everyone is doing well.

My First Hunt

Well I shot my first buck. Here is my story. I wish John was here to put it down,(he is a professional storyteller!). Our plan was to get up around 4:30 and be on our way up the canyon by 5 or 5:30, but when the baby woke up at 3:30 and didn't get back to sleep till 4:00 I wasn't about to get up! So I made john quit bugging me til about 5:00. We still had to get lunch, my guns(John wouldn't let me just take one)and the baby stuff. We were running late to say the least.
SO we are flying up the canyon, I'm getting car sick, we reach about to where we are going and the sun is coming over the mountain I make John stop so I can snap a quick shot (it was to pretty to pass up). We finally reach our destination an hour and a half late(8:00 ish)! John hops out of the truck to talk to his dad and gets his bino's out to scan some hillsides. He came up to help with the baby, thanks Mike! John looked over the first side then the next where he thought the deer should have been, and nothing, he turns around and scans the last side and about 5 miles( maybe 1) away he spots some deer. So he tells me get your gun we are going. I grab the gun tell Mike the baby's in the truck asleep and we were off!
I didn't know if any of you have ever hinted with a Barclay but their legs grow four feet long and they become mountain goats! That is how I felt at least. John was way good to hike slow and make sure I was doing alright. Anyway at this point i still can't tell these deer from bushes. So halfway up the hill I make John stop and really SHOW me the deer before I hike any further. There they were(dang, I'm too lazy for this). We finish the hike not to mention a pit stop I HAD to make. The deer were just above us through some Aspen trees. We belly crawled over the top of that hill then set up my cheater bi pod up I layed down to shoot, but there wasn't a clear shot that way. We readjust so I sit on my bum take a breath and bang! the deer drops dead in it's tracks, or is John's most excited voice I've ever herd " you got him , you dropped him like a ton of sh**" He almost made us fall back down the hill the way he hugged me.
Well the deer didn't die that shot but I did shoot him right through his back, so he was paralyzed(i thought it was super sad) and rolling down the hill slowly to us, as we hike up to him. I did a quick finish shot through his heart and lungs, John cleaned him (I did help hold him, but John is just really good at it), and headed back to Mike and the baby! John drug this deer like it was an empty sack, I almost had to run down the mountain to keep up.
So all in all I made made a 332 yard shot, John tells me that is good, really it wasn't hard I was sitting, and had a good scope. Dropped a little 3X3 1/16( it has a crazy little thing off the back of one side) Got my husband to clean and drag my deer and got back to the truck by 9:00. Just in time to feed the baby, Ha Ha.
It was super fun and I'll go again next year. Hopefully I didn't leave anything out. Big thanks to my Eagle Eye husband who did everything but shoot the deer for me, and Grandpa Mike for watching Kaydence!!!!!

The best sounding alarm ever!!

This is my little one just chatting away this morning. I finally found my camera to record it when she was done. But this is what I wake up to (when it isn't screams of "I'm starving!"). Sorry it is just black. I didn't turn the lights on.

Bowzerk!

When I found out I would be having a baby girl I would buy ribbon every time I saw something kind of cute.Well lets say I have a collection. But I have been taught, and figured out how to make some fun things. Here is what I have done so far. I'm going to try and make some bugs out of ribbon ( I stole the idea from quilted bear, they wanted me to pay 3.00 for just one clip. No Way).
The green thing is a Christmas tree.

I have fun making them and it keeps my mind off of how much I miss my husband! He is so good to me, I try to be strong for him, I know it isn't easy for John to be gone. So i keep busy playing house, yardman, and now hair accessory extraordinaire!

My Baby is 1 month old Wow

Our Kaydence has been here one full month! I'm not sure what I've done, but I do know I am running low on diapers and wipes ha ha. I have had so much fun being a mom, and watching john be a dad.
I forgot about these pictures but while we were up the canyon getting John's deer out Kaydence had a blow out above all!! not only did she get herself front and back, I just so happend to be feeding her and she got ME as well. The last picture is right after I got her cleaned up. I finally cought her smile. Ben and Tues I think we may have another bubbles in the family, she has just started this.

The Drag =(

John and scott are down there you'll have to make the image bigger to see them.

The Cliff How the boys got in and out

The title says it all here are the pictures of John, Scott and Lee dragging his elk sized deer up out of the boulder pit. Thanks to Lee and his winch( This cliff was super nasty) the job was alot easier. Thank you boys for helping John!!

John's weekend!!

It was Friday morning and Scotty and i headed out for a long day of hunting. We didn't have any particular place in mind, we just wanted to hunt all day. We started out the day walking down from skyline into blue Meadows of six mile but only saw a few deer and never got a shot at any of the bucks. so we headed out for Ephraim canyon we had about an hour to kill before Markell was supposed to be there for lunch so we decided to push some

trees while we waited. Scotty went to one end and pushed towards Lee Cox and Me. Scotty walked all the way through those trees with out seeing anything until he got about 50 yards away from lee and I and then he saw a buck hiding in the trees. he made a great shot and the buck didn't go far it was a 22" 4 point (it's in the pictures above).

Markell and Kaydence came and made us some lunch and we relaxed until we were ready to hit it hard again. we went to a little different spot not to far away and started a push. Scott went on one end, Lee stayed in the middle top and i went to the far end. My area was just one big boulder field i couldn't even walk on the ground i was jumping boulder to boulder. i had only been walking for about 2 minutes when i stopped and looked off the edge of a cliff out over a aspen filled valley. i spotted there for about 5 minutes and then started to jump my way along again. I jumped about three times and climbed down to a small trail and walked between to very large boulders. just as i passed behind them i heard a sound. I ran to the other side to see a brute of a buck running across the side hill under the cliffs above me. I pulled my gun up and waited a split second until he stopped jumping and started trotting and i put my sights on his shoulder and squeezed the trigger and down he went "like a ton of ----!" (famous Johnbar quote) i knew he was a nice buck when i first saw him but when i got up to him i was blown away he was unbelievable. I could not have wished for a better buck. i was so happy all i could say on the radio was "Scotty he's huge". I'm so excited about this buck i don't have an official score but i measured him my self and he's 26.5" wide and 28" tall. there are lots of ways to measure on weird angles but that's just the straight up welder measurements. I'm tickled to death and just wanted to tell Scotty that i love him and thanks for all the help yesterday.
